Secco NW Ltd contracted MNA to install 392 metres of free-standing guardrails on the roof of interior cold storage unit at a Bookers Wholesale distribution site in St Helens.
The building houses an interior cold store with an accessible roof for maintenance and repair requirements.
MNA initially visited the site to examine the structure and determined that the flat roof of the interior cold unit required guardrail installation as a form of fall protection.
It was agreed with our client that free-standing guardrails would be the ideal choice for the roof structure since they do not require drilling or permanent fastening, ensuring the performance and temperature of the cold unit would not be compromised.
The works were executed carefully and methodically to ensure that our operatives not only complied with working at height regulations 2005, but also adopted and adhered to the safe method of work outlined in our risk assessment and method statement.
