Project Background
Corporation Bridge is one of only 25 bascule lifting bridges remaining in England, making it a rare and significant piece of engineering heritage. Opened by the Prince of Wales in 1925, the bridge has been a key part of Grimsby’s infrastructure and history. Due to natural wear over time, the structure required critical refurbishment to maintain its function and aesthetic appeal.

Scope of Work
As part of the restoration project, MNA Cladding was responsible for key upgrades to the control room. Our work included:

  • Installation of new wall and roof cladding with insulation to improve the structure while maintaining its historic character.
  • Restoration of the external roof and walls, reinforcing the integrity of the control room while respecting the bridge’s original design.

Outcome
By carefully carrying out these essential works, MNA Cladding has helped extend the life of this iconic landmark. Our commitment to quality craftsmanship and heritage preservation ensures that Corporation Bridge remains a functional and historical asset for years to come.

Conclusion
At MNA Cladding, we take great pride in contributing to projects that honour and safeguard the nation’s architectural heritage. The successful completion of this project reflects our dedication to high standards, durability, and attention to detail. Corporation Bridge continues to stand as a testament to Grimsby’s industrial past and its promising future.
