Safety Line Installation At Manufacturing Facility For UK’s Number 1 Trade Kitchen Supplier

Back in 2021, we visited the site of our long-standing client, a well-known kitchen manufacturer situated in East Yorkshire, to identify and provide a solution for height safety on one of their key factories.

Our survey identified that the roof envelope was a ridged roof with no safe access or safe operating methods for performing maintenance and other roof activities. Following our site visit, our in-house team established and planned the most effective height safety system that could be installed on the premises.

The survey concluded eight horizontal safety lines would be required over the entirety of the roof envelope, each measuring 194 metres.

The installation of the eight lines would allow all operatives working on the roof structure to attach to the horizontal safety line, providing fall restraint and fall arrest measures. The placement of the eight lines made certain that there would be a constant connection between operatives and the line, allowing for movement across the whole structure.

Since the installation of the safety line system, we have returned to the site to perform the legally required annual testing and inspection, to ensure the system is still fit for purpose, safe to use and compliant.
